Susan Brubaker Knapp was the guest speaker for the Quilt Guild this month and taught a class on using Tyvek. It was one of the most fun classes I've ever taken. Tyvek is used in mailers and house insulation. One of its properties is that it reacts to heat by melting, bubbling, or into a concave texture. In this quilt it's painted, stitched, then melted for a fall leaf effect. Check out her website
