2016 finishes!

Just what quilts did I make/ finish in 2016? It's easy to forget as once they are done I move on to the next one. Maybe in the language of "The Art of Tidying Up", by Marie Kondo, I thank the quilt for the pleasure of making it, use it or pass it on. If it's been troublesome, I'm full of gratitude that the project is finished. One I'm eyeing as not finished and will change it somehow. So here they are- thanks to the monthly listings in photo roll on my iPad.

The 2016 mystery by Bonnie Hunter "Allietare". This was my first mystery ever and I enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of Bonnie Hunters scrap saving method. Also she's delightful, went on a Mediterranean Cruise with her in Aug and that will be a where I travelled in 2016 post. Below I took the extra blocks and made a smaller version.

Qdad sample block for January. I had such a hard time piecing it I never made the Quilt I designed.

Three Kitty Stripe Quilt. I designed the pattern and this was my second version.

I finally got this one quilted...it's made from my own dye painted fabrics.

Charlie, made for my sister....

Improv quilted, I accidentally left some blue tape I used to stabilize angles. Can't really see it though.

This one, another improv is used daily.

My display at "Airing of the Quilts" by Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild in Feb!

Love this "Shimmer" pattern by Jenny Bowker. I used bright orange minky for backing.

A few of my quilts at the Newtown Library on display.

Jack the Cat.....what a great poser!

Of course if one sister gets a cow Quilt so does the other...the Longhorn

And Lucy the cat to Beth, a wonderful dil...

Free motion quilting practice, I made it into a pillow.

Sampler started at SMQG Quilt retreat in April. Isn't that a cute improv bird? This quilt incorporates different techniques taught at the retreat by Pat Hanson, Lou Dobbs, and Carole Shaw.

Riley Blake fabric challenge, pattern designed by me.

Heart quilt for the Pulse night club shooting.

Sneak peek at a test Quilt of Valor for Carole Shaw's book.

T-shirt Quilt for another wonderful dil Bridget. Quite the baseball player!

Majestic Mountains, a Bonnie Hunter pattern started at Retreat in Apr. Quilt digitized pattern is Time Warp by Patricia Ritter from Digi-Tech.com

Improv Quilt used daily.

Finished! One of the ones I had to rework 3 times. Lower left redone.

I sent Bonnie Hunter a photo of my finished Spanish Rose that was the pattern on our cruise. She posted it on her  web sites!

I just love the Time Warp digitized panto. I made this to practice placement. Used it at Christmas.

Just a fun Mini for FKQG Mini Auction.

Another Mini for auction. This is a coloring Quilt and I will include washable crayons.

Another fun Mini for FKQG auction

So much fun I taught a class "I love this fabric" using some of these techniques.

Laying out more "I love this fabric" for mini quilts

Michael Miller challenge quilt. I love the feel of his fabrics. It did not get into QuiltCon 2017 tho.

Jack the Cat, I love negative spaces where shapes merge.

Qdad Challenge for QuiltCon 2017 did get into the show.

And last one of the year was  Peek a boo sample where tulle is used instead of batting. This will be great with my grandies!

I helped with Alliance for the Arts booth....fun day!
