2018 the start of a new year...

2018 - a very cold start even here in Florida. It was down to freezing one night and the iguanas fell from trees stunned by the cold. Yes, I’ve got socks on with my flip flops! I’m so lucky to live here and take classes from Pat Alderman at Tops Sewing. She’s the best! I’m taking intermediate Prostitcher Premiun (PSP) and advanced Art and Stitch classes. Both of these are software to design and stitch out on Longarms. I still have to do my PSP homework but I did stitch out the Art and Stitch (ANS) motif fill homework. Note, this year I’ve decided to number all the quilts I finish just out of curiosity.
First up is an ANS homework assignment.....can you spot the error?

The mistake is left side halfway down, I cropped at the wrong place. I finished the quilt anyway and will hang it by the longarm as a reminder to always double check or just plan break for chunking when designing or laying out the stitch plan.
“Ikat” quilt pattern by Zen Chic for Moda fabrics (free on Moda website). I have never used a jelly roll of fabric so when I fell in love with this pattern I bought two jelly rolls! That’s all it takes.

I used Zen Chic’s fabrics and love the bright colors.
Another technique quilt....

And yet......it’s still it’s not the expertise I’m seeking so there’s another one in the works.

I adopted “Snow” (now named Jon Snow) from the Cat Depot, a no kill shelter over a year ago....he does the darndest things. What’s he thinking in this photo?
