Silk Painting

Luscious Silk Painting-
I have admired Daniel Jean-Baptiste silk paintings since finding his work. The water just flows through the paintings. They are vibrant! So I followed his painting process on utube. It's not as easy as it looks....

First try gave insight to the wet-on-wet versus wet-on-dry methods. I'm still not sure what "base" he applies before he adds paint. Both done with black resist.
 Second try much more controlled.
Then I tried the Seahorses on silk using gold and black resist.
Love the water effect.
Seahorses on cotton with light orange resist.  I will stitch this for more emphasis.
I love the water wavy, flowing effect. Which do you like better the ones on silk or the one on cotton? This method is addictive.
Next is an alligator!
