Soy Wax resist

In another project I'm trying soy wax as the resist. It seems messy and I was so disappointed it did not have the wonderful candle wax smell. I did not have a tjang, the traditional batik tool used to apply wax and used a brush. Inspiration is a wedding announcement.

I outlined the flowers and leaves with the soy wax, then dye painted. And now I'm stuck thinking what to do next? Should I dye the background a tan or leave it white? Or maybe remove the wax now and paint in the black outlines? One thing for sure , I will have a lot of touch ups and will have to add a couple of small red flowers from paint drool.

This is approximately 45" x 60"
