Class with Gloria Loughman

I've certainly enjoyed this class "Escape to the Rain Forest" today with Gloria Loughman, international award winning quilter from Australia. We started with white fabric then painted the sky and background forest. After it was somewhat dry given a beautiful day here in Florida, we added in ghost tree trunks and other texture.
Then we "fussy cut" dyed or batik fabrics to form various plants to
accentuate the scene.
Gloria was so helpful to all of us needing more design direction and she even painted some on mine to add more texture.
Now its ready for the stitching - for me that's the fun part. Various needles and threads were reviewed along with sewing techniques. A short demonstration on stitching ideas and tension adjustment was so helpful. Stitching highlights are done on a four-way tear away interfacing. Thank you Gloria for a great class. Sorry to hear it's the last time you teach this particular class. It was excellent! Check back for stitching updates...
