Kitty Stripes

I've been working on this design ever since I saw the artwork of Charley Harper. It is very retro modern and would work great in the Modern Quilt arena. In order to get the design in my head on paper I am learning idraw for the ipad. It is the apple version of Adobe Illustrator but not as in depth.

I just love this design but once again in dye painting the color rinses (fades?) out.

Only on the orange ears and lower right side did the Procion MX dye seemed to hold its strength. So I think it is just a matter of mixing the correct strength of dye powder to the print mix. I am going to go over this a second time to even out the intensity of color. And after "tweeking" the layout, piecing may be possible. Check back...
