Swirl dye face

Follow my blog with BloglovinIt's hard to think of a description for this pieced top. The "face" is from leftover dye on a white on white fabric. The rest of it all class samples from Ann Johnston at QBL this summer. (I've got some wavy borders to quilt in too.) I plan on lots of bright color wavy hair quilting.

But the inspiration is to stitch a face in the style of Hollis Chatelain here is a sample similar to the one she started in class...

Yeah, like I could ever do it that well, but hey, I'll give it a try...

So this is quilt top #3 unquilted.....I think I'll go for number 4 and 5 before I start quilting. Such freedom from feeling I have to finish each top as a quilt before I can start another is catching!
