Quilting Vintage

Yesterday had most awesome longarm class and trunk show with Kelly Cline of Quilting Vintage on Facebook. From Lawrence, Kansas and member of the Kaw Valley Quilt Guild, one that I joined when we were stationed at Ft Leavenworth. She takes old handkerchiefs and other linens and quilts them beautifully- literally bringing them back to life.
Handkerchief from Grandmas each with different stitching - a beautiful way to preserve and actually use these hankies.

This is my favorite....just look at the quilting. It is actually fruit stamping done with her granddaughter!
Here's a before and after sample.
She quilted around the stamping, or painting with those gorgeous filled circles. Perfect border was given to her. She finds most of her linens at antique stores, Goodwill, or garage sales. Many are now given to her and she uses them in her classses.

Here's a view of her longarming she gave many hints and ideas.
Here's what a longarm class looks like. We are gathered around the machine watching her Quilt. She makes it look so easy but, she is a professional calligrapher and has the eye hand motion coordination.
A wonderful day it was!
