Green Owl Quilt is finished! The exclamation point is because once quilted I could not decide on the style of a scalloped edge, so it lived on the design wall for weeks. Finally I marked a tree trunk shape and just cut. I used a facing just like on a blouse to finish it.
I especially love the clamshells for Owl feathers and the knitted sweater stitching. And the ruler work on the eye area adds depth.
This design is one I did from QDAD- Quilt Design A Day Facebook group. Below is the photo inspiration.
I loved the minimal Green Owl design so I had it printed by Spoonflower. A friend, Barb, donated the brown paisley fabric.
On the longarm...and yes, I use the blue washable pen to mark which panto goes where and also keep a printed photo of the quilting plan to review.
Next up will be an Improv Quilt then another QDAD design...chicken panel.
